Thursday May 15th & Friday May 16th
Participating artists will meet at Carmel City Hall on Thursday at 7:00 A.M. Carmel-by-the-Sea's City Officials will date stamp up to 5 canvases that will fit within an outside framed dimension of 30" x 36". The paintings must be done Plein Air (out-of-doors) in the Carmel area May 15th & 16th.
Artists will have until 6:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday to complete a painting and deliver it (framed) for inclusion in the weekend Exhibition, Silent Auction, and juried Competition. The host location where they are to be delivered is the Carmel Art Association located on Dolores between 5th & 6th Streets.
Saturday, May 17th
The Auction held at the Carmel Art Association will open to the public at 10:00 A.M. The judges will have completed judging at this hour.
The Awards Ceremony & Reception for the artists will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M.Up to 24 cash prizes will be awarded at the Awards Ceremony. 1st prize is $5,000, 2nd prize is $2,000, 3rd prize is $1,000. There are five categories of $750 prizes and more than 15 Honorable Mention prizes of $500 each.
The Silent Auction will run from
10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. with the beginning of the live auction at
6:00 P.M. Artists will receive 50% of the Auction proceeds; the remaining
balance will go to charitable causes including Youth Art Scholarships.
